Trading cards

This discovery was great fun! I've shared it with my colleagues and we've already made plans to make trading cards for the staff and our students. What a clever way to share who we are and our departments.

Podcasts

This was an interesting search process.
I discovered links to author interviews that could be of great interest to library patrons who ask for assistance for their book clubs.
Personally, I found podcasts of my pastor's sermons that I can download and listen to later. My son-in-law also preaches periodically in California and I can listen to his sermons as well.

RSS

This will be a great way to organize my feeds. My biggest complaint about using these new tools is the amount of time it takes to cover all the material. This will be a great to tool to get some of the info together and in a timely manner.

To Twitter or not to Twitter....

We have had fun this afternoon discussing the uses and pros and cons of Twittering. The student workers had interesting comments about it and the staff had fun questioning their responses. The inter-generational give and take may just be one of the really neat things about Twittering!! My nephew tweets all the time and he thot it pretty cool that ole auntie was doing it too! Talk about interacting and engaging with others-----my first attempts today sure proved to me that it could be a great socialization tool.
